Dr. George Gregory Hobbs became Artistic Director of the Highlander Concert Series in January 2005. He immediately made a name for himself in Dallas and set the standard for the series' future seasons with a stunning and deeply worshipful performance of Mozart's Requiem on Good Friday, March 25.

Dr. Hobbs also serves as the Director of Music at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where he coordinates a diverse and comprehensive music ministry that includes the Music Academy, all of its choral and instrumental ensembles, and its talented music staff. Additionally, he directs the Chancel Choir in weekly worship leadership and special concerts.

Before coming to Dallas, Dr. Hobbs served in similar capacities in churches in Florida, Georgia, Illinois and Texas. He was also a faculty member at the Florida International University School of Music, where he conducted the University Chorale, Women's Choir and Master Chorale.

Dr. Hobbs' educational background includes studies at Florida State University, Southwestern Seminary, the University of Georgia, and Northwestern University, where he completed a Doctor of Music degree in Conducting. He also studied with many outstanding conductors through fellowships with Chorus America and the American Symphony Orchestra League.

Dr. Hobbs lives in Dallas with his wife, Niki, and sons, Clark and Henry.
